When Domino folded in January of 2009, it was a sad day for the design community. This magazine that so many of us waited patiently for every month was now no longer. But like your good friends that stay with you after you've been dumped, design blogs came to the rescue, unfailingly posting new content every day, perhaps even more than they had ever before. Design blogs not only provide such a vast array of content, but they connect like-minded people who all share a soft spot for the built environment. We put together our top 10 list of our favorite blogs that fill us with so much satisfaction every day. Enjoy!

For the Hollywood Hunter

Sometimes our favorite characters' homes are enviable. Who wouldn't be able to write a weekly column in Carrie Bradshaw's gorgeous brownstone apartment? Betty Draper's living room makes us wish we could transport back in time, and period sets like those of "Pride and Prejudice" make us want to curl up with the book all over again. And perhaps no one understands this more than Cathy Whitlock, author of Cinema Style, who shares photos from sets of the most visually intoxicating films and television series on her blog every week. Look out for her book "Designs on Film," which is due out in late 2010--a coffee table staple for sure.

For the In-the-Know

A former style editor for both House Beautiful and O at Home, Marisa Marcantonio is one of the most connected design bloggers out there. In addition to her favorite design photos, she shares insider info on all the latest tag sales, show houses and best of all, giveaways! STYLEBEAT is a must-have in your list of blogs you follow – it's the read that keeps on giving!

For the Modern-Minded

We admit it: we kind of have a crush on Design Therapy. It's smart, but not snooty. It's a little unpredictable. And it's beautiful to look at. Interior designer Brad Ford shares both the fantastical and the informative; it's almost like seeing inspiration boards he'd create for a client. You're introduced to his modern, yet warm aesthetic, while getting a sense of his personality as well.

For the Taste Makers

Ever wonder what top designers and taste makers read for fun? Or how about their idea of true happiness? You can find these answers and more in Ronda Carman's Proust-like interviews with only the most influential personalities in the artistic community. From designers to authors to chefs, on All the Best, Carman has a way of seeking people out who make beautiful things for a living, and drawing their spirit out. We love checking back every week to see whom she's ready to introduce!

For the Elevation-Inspired

For all of us who get a little too excited by seeing the floor plans and architectural renderings of beautiful buildings around the world, this is the blog for you. Author and residential architect Stefan Hurray has a way of showcasing a stunning building or an iconic piece of art and providing you with a bit of its history. It's like going on a home and garden tour in a different part of the world every day (yes please)!

For the D-I-Y-er

Grace Bonney knows design. When she started Design Sponge in 2004, design blogs (blogs in general), were still rather uncommon. Fast-forward six years later and Design Sponge is now seen as one of the most credible sources out there for all things design-related. She and her team of crafty connoisseurs share not only their fun D.I.Y. projects, but also their product reviews, city guides, before and afters, recipes and trend forecasting. You could spend hours on this site with all it has to offer.

For the Green-Spirited

It's actually easy being green … when you're reading Inhabitat! Often at the fringe of conventional design, eco-friendly is made totally en vogue by Jill Fehrenbacher and her team of green-minded writers. The site is more than a blog, really. It catalogues all things environmentally-friendly: architecture, interiors, products, technology, etc. We love looking at all the innovative green architecture around the world and the blog helps us realize that it's really easy to find products that help the earth, while helping you stay true to your own style.

For the Happy-Go-Lucky

Appropriately named after both its author and content, Oh Joy gives us our daily dose of happiness. Blogging since 2005, Joy Deangdeelert Cho designs textiles, packaging and branding for clients in the fashion and food industries. Whether it's her "this for that" feature, thematic montages, fashion and décor photos, or fun pops of music, Oh Joy gives us what we need to keep a smile on our face.

For the Practical Designer

The ultimate sourcebook for anything you'd need around the home, Remodelista is the progeny of four friends living in different cities around the world. Together they come up with straightforward, helpful lists of those hard-to-find products and suggestions for design solutions. We love their "10 Easy Pieces," "Design Sleuth" and "Steal This Look" series.

For the well, habitually chic!

Interior designer Heather Clawson has a way about her ... we can't go a day without getting our fix of Habitually Chic. While often voyeuristic, the photos she posts give us something to aspire to and she's great about providing tips for the everyday reader. Heather also sprinkles in fashion content, which is always the perfect complement to fabulous decor.
