Many people believe Friday the 13th to be a day of bad luck. The fear of Friday the 13th is called friggartriskaidekaphobia. The word was coined in 1911 and became mainstream in 1953.

Although there is a movie called "Friday the 13th," the superstition dates back to biblical times. Some believe 13 is an unlucky number because there were 13 people at the Last Supper; and Fridays have been associated with many disasters since the 1800s.

From ‘True Blood’ to ‘Twilight’ – vampires are all the rage these days. But the very thought of these bloodsuckers is enough to drive some people over the edge.

This phobia is called sanguivoriphobia, which literally means fear of blood eaters – or in other words, vampires.
