    Demi Moore Demi Moore allegedly suffered a seizure after using whip-its, whipped cream chargers filled with nitrous oxide, in January 2012.  While there is no evidence she has an addiction to whip-its, she was reportedly sent to rehab in the 80s for cocaine abuse.

    Heather Locklear Heather Locklear made headlines in January 2012 when she was hospitalized for an alleged drug overdose.  TMZ reported she had ingested a "dangerous mix" of prescription drug Xanax and alcohol.

  • Lindsay Lohan
    Lindsay Lohan Lindsay Lohan has a long history with drug addition. On Jan. 18, 2007, Lohan checked herself in to the Wonderland Center rehabilitation facility, and said she was making "a proactive decision to take care of my personal health." In May 2007, Lohan lost control of her car and ran the vehicle up a curb. Police found cocaine in her car and the police lab detected cocaine in her blood. After receiving treatment for minor injuries, Lohan was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Two days later, Lohan entered the Promises Treatment Centers rehabilitation facility. In July 2007, Lohan was booked on a felony charge of possession of cocaine and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. The following month, Lohan entered Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Sundance, Utah, for a third stint at rehabilitation, staying until October 2007. In July 2010, a Los Angeles judge ordered Lohan to spend 90 days in jail for violation of probation. Lohan spent 14 days in the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, Calif., and upon release was ordered to attend a substance abuse treatment program for 90 days. On Aug. 2, 2010, Lohan reportedly entered Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. In Sept. 2010, the actress entered the Betty Ford clinic, after failing two more drug tests.

  • Courtney Love
    Courtney Love, lead singer of the band Hole and wife of the late Kurt Cobain, admitted to taking drugs while pregnant with daughter Frances Bean in 1992. In 2003, Love was treated for an accidental overdose of the painkiller Oxycontin. When Love didn't enter rehab after being charged with possession of painkillers, she lost custody of her daughter. She regained custody in 2005, but then admitted she used drugs during her probation. She was released from house arrest in February 2006.

  • Charlie Sheen
    Charlie Sheen, the star of the sitcom "Two and a Half Men," has a troubled past dating to 1990, when he checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. Then in 1998, he hit rock bottom when he was hospitalized after a near fatal drug overdose. As a result, he was sentenced to a detox clinic. Sheen voluntarily entered a rehab facility in February 2010 "as a preventative measure." It has not been specified why he was seeking treatment, but this latest stint comes as the 44-year-old actor faces legal problems arising from a fight with his wife in Aspen, Colo., in December 2009. On August 2, 2010, Sheen pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife during a Christmas Day argument in exchange for a plea deal with no jail time and more serious charges were dropped. Sheen was sentenced to 30 days in rehab, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.   In October 2010, Sheen allegedly caused more than $7,000 worth of damage at the Plaza hotel in New York City when he was high on alcohol and cocaine. He was taken to a hospital, but released.  On January 27, 2011, Sheen was taken to the hospital by paramedics for stomach pains, and began rehab the next day. His TV show announced it was on hiatus.

    Keith Urban Country singer Keith Urban married actress Nicole Kidman in June 2006 and less than 6 months later he checked himself into the Betty Ford Center in California.  "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones who love and support me," Urban said in an issued statement. "One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have."  On July 7, 2008, Kidman gave birth to the couple's first child, Sunday Rose. A surrogate gave birth to the couple's second child, Faith, in December 2010.

    Winona Ryder  After actress Winona Ryder received a probationary sentence for stealing and vandalizing merchandise at a Saks Fifth Avenue store in December 2001, a a probation report concluded that she had filled 37 prescriptions from 20 doctors under a half-dozen aliases during a 3-year period. Ryder's attorney, Mark Geragos, admitted at the time Ryder had a "pain-management problem."

    Mel Gibson Feb. 26, 2004: Producer, director and actor, Mel Gibson was first arrested for drinking and driving in 1984. He attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, saying alcoholism runs in his family. In July 2006, Gibson was arrested for DUI while speeding in his vehicle with an open container of alcohol. He admitted to making anti-Semitic remarks during his arrest and apologized for his "despicable" behavior, saying the comments were "blurted out in a moment of insanity."  He was ordered to attend self-help meetings five times a week for 4 1/2 months and three times a week for the remainder of the first year of his probation. He was also ordered to attend a First Offenders Program, was fined $1,300, and his license was restricted for 90 days. Gibson volunteered to record a public service announcement.

    Whitney Houston Although singer and actress Whitney Houston was often seen as a 'good girl' in the public eye, her behavior became erratic in the late 1990s. She was often late for interviews, canceled appearances last-minute and began to lose weight. An airport securtiy guard found marijuana in both Houston and then-husband Bobby Brown's luggage in 2000.  In 2002, Houston told Diane Sawyer in a TV interview that she had tried various substances, but "crack is wack," which became an infamous quote. She entered rehab in 2004 and 2005.

    Robert Downey Jr.  Actor Robert Downey Jr. claims to have been addicted to drugs since the age of 8. From 1996 through 2001, Downey was arrested numerous times on drug-related charges and went several times through drug treatment programs unsuccessfully, explaining in 1999 to a judge: "It's like I have a loaded gun in my mouth and my finger's on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gunmetal."
