Singles who use emojis have more sex, study finds

Using smiley faces in text messages can keep you happy in bed, a new study claims.

Singles who communicate with emojis have more sex than those who just use words, according to a survey released by Match.com Wednesday.

Fifty-four percent of single people who use emojis had sex in 2014 — compared to 31 percent of singles who didn’t, according to the dating site’s annual Singles in America survey.

“[Emoji users] want to give their texts more personality…They don’t just have more sex, they go on more dates and they are two times more likely to want to get married,” Rutgers University professor Dr. Helen Fisher, who headed the study, told Time magazine.

Sixty-two percent of singles who use emojis want to get married, she said. By contrast, only thirty percent of singles who don’t use them want to tie the knot.
