Woman chronicles 100 consecutive days at the gym

If you’ve already started falling behind on your New Year’s resolution to lose weight and be healthier, here’s a dose of inspiration.

For the past 120 days, LaKeisha Shurn of Berkeley, Calif., has posted short videos to Giveit100.com.  According to her page, her goal is to lose weight and learn how to love herself in 365 days.

Shurn also posted a video compilation of her first 100 days at the gym, which has gone viral and gained her some high-profile fans. Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels posted on her Facebook: “I've never met this woman, but watched her video blog. What a bad a**. Bravo. Get it girl!”

In her video, which has been viewed more than 460,000 times on YouTube, Shern starts off at 348 pounds.

“I have low self-esteem. I am going through depression, and I want to change all of that,” Shern states in the video. “The next 100 days, I will be on the journey of losing weight and finding myself.”

Through a montage of gym workouts, she drops from a size 26 to a size 22, all while keeping a positive attitude. Shern said she lost 18 pounds over the 100-day period.

The video closes with Shern saying, “I have to learn a lot of things, and there’s still more to go. And I’m super excited to do it, and I hope you join me along the way.”
