Most of us tend to forget that each one of those tasty alcoholic cocktails we consume contains high levels of sugar and hundreds of calories. But there are healthier alternatives that won���t require you to sit out your next happy hour. The following five cocktails will allow you to lose weight without having to sacrifice taste.

Gin and tonic
One of the simplest and most popular cocktails in the world, it seems that gin and tonic were truly made for each other. At just over 100 calories per glass, the ���g and t��� is also one of the best cocktails for those trying to maintain a healthy diet. The recipe is simple: 2 ounces of gin and 5 ounces of tonic water mixed in a highball glass, with a lemon wedge added as a garnish.

Appletini
Not all diet drinks have to be plain and boring. The appletini is a colorful, tangy and flavorful drink that���s still low in calories. In addition, it can be a wonderful source of vitamins, when made with the right ingredients. A low-calorie sour apple martini is made by mixing 3 ounces of sour mix, 1 ounce of vodka and 1 ounce of sour apple liqueur.

Low-calorie mojito
The mojito has experienced a revival in recent years. The cocktail comes in many forms and flavors, from the dirty mojito to the apple mojito. While most versions contain high amounts of sugar, there are healthier recipes that still provide that refreshing mojito taste. The key is to sweeten the drink with warm honey, rather than the traditional measure of sugar, and always use fresh squeezed lime juice.

Bloody Mary
A favorite for generations, the classic Bloody Mary contains less than 150 calories and under 10 grams of sugar. What���s more, the cocktail is packed full of vitamins, making it a great choice for dieters. The standard Bloody Mary is made by mixing 6 ounces of tomato juice with 1.5 ounces of vodka and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Next, add about 3 drops of Worcestershire sauce, 3 drops of tobacco and a pinch of celery salt. Finish with a dash of fresh ground pepper and horseradish and garnish with a celery stalk.

Champagne
Although not considered a cocktail, champagne is a low-calorie alternative to wine, beer or cocktails. Though most vintages of champagne are naturally low in calories, Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut Champagne is among of the lowest on the market. At roughly 65 calories per glass, you won���t need to feel guilty next time you celebrate in style. ��For a little variety, try adding a splash of fresh fruit juice to give your champagne some added flavor.
