A new study suggests that parents may be a part of the problem with teen prescription drug abuse.

According to the Boston Globe, more than half of parents say their kids have access to parents' prescriptions and one in seven say they've given their children prescription pain medication that wasn't prescribed to them.

Health officials say the results are alarming.

According to drugfree.org, more people in Massachusetts die from fatal overdoses than from car accidents each year.
