AUSTIN, Texas – Police are trying to identify a man who was hospitalized after being found naked and suffering from a severe sunburn on a dock near Austin, Texas.
The man suffered second-degree burns on over 40 percent of his body when he was found asleep Sunday morning on a private dock at Lake Travis, about 20 miles from Austin, ABC reported. His burns were so bad, he had to be airlifted from the scene.
Texas is currently in the midst of a relentless summer heat wave.
"He didn't know his name, who he was or how he got there," emergency services spokesman Warren Hassinger said. "He was found without an ID or possessions of any sort."
The man is recovering at an area hospital, while police continue to make inquiries.
