When Kimberly Carrick went into labor, her 16-year-old daughter Kaitlyn got behind the wheel to take her to the hospital, but knew she didn’t have much time.

Soon after leaving their home in Winter Park, Fla., Carrick asked her daughter to pull over and call 911. The dispatchers took Kaitlyn through the process of delivering a baby step-by-step, and she even tied off the umbilical cord with a shoe lace, MyFoxOrlando.com reported.

In the recording of the 911 call, the dispatcher asked Kaitlyn to calm down, and asked her what was wrong.

"My mom just had her baby in the car!" Kaitlyn responded.

Both mom and new baby Kylee were safe and doing well when the paramedics arrived to take them to Winter Park Memorial Hospital.
