Debbie's cakes are anything but ordinary.
"I truly enjoy making food and animal cakes but I also love that I am often challenged to make things that I had no previous knowledge of," said Goard. "It forces me to learn new things, create new techniques."
"Believe it or not, cakes don't really 'want' to be manipulated into sometimes gravity defying shapes," said Goard. "My customers tell me that they are surprised that the cakes were both wonderful to look at but also moist and delicious."
Goard assures on her website that every cake she makes is 100% edible.
While architectural cakes are not out of her wheelhouse, Goard tends to gravitate towards the ones that are a bit closer to the ground.
Goard uses traditional cake recipes for each cake, ensuring that not only do they taste good, but they are able to withstand the structure.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Goard has been making cakes professionally for over 20 years.
Debbie Goard, the design mastermind behind Debbie Does Cakes, is making some culinary creations that are anything but ordinary.
