I’ll admit — my fridge is not the prettiest place in the world. I always make sure to have some baking soda inside so I can even open it in the presence of polite company — but this is actually a valuable sign in the war on ill health! Years ago, many foods spoiled quickly and therefore it was more important to preserve things. But now, I can keep some raw foods — like salads with cold-pressed olive oil — in my fridge for 3 days sometimes. But of course, they are so good I eat them usually before that! READ: 4 of the Riskiest Foods in Your Fridge You don’t need special juices or programs to rejuvenate your body. All you just need the right foods! That is why I wrote my books: "Eating in the Raw: A Beginner’s Guide" and the more up-to date "Easy Sexy Raw" just last year. I give you all sorts of recipes, shopping and swapping lists, and online resources to make this all EZ! No more excuses ; ) So here’s my thoughts on health: Every day we get assaulted by pollution, chemicals, processed foods, nutrient-depleted soils and more. That makes it more important than ever to think about eating well and detoxifying. When you don’t, your liver gets clogged, and believe me, health really starts in the liver. When the liver’s clogged, you’re lethargic, puffy, irritable and depressed. Your blood sugars and hormones are out of whack. You never seem to be able to lose those last 20 pounds. Here’s why the right food is so important to your well being: •When it’s raw (food cooked under 118 degrees), your body gets flooded with the enzymes needed to transport nutrients — and that will show in your energy levels, metabolism, weight and more. •Fresh, whole, raw food is free of hormones and chemicals, and that will balance yours. •Many raw foods are mostly alkaline, and that’s a good thing. An alkaline environment fights disease and aging, while illness thrives in an acidic one.
