    Forget Cupcakes, Mug Cakes Are Where It's At

    We'll never say that cupcakes aren't delicious little bundles of joy, but their welcome may be wearing thin on Main Street. According to The Wall Street Journal, cupcake shops aren't the cash cows they used to be. Market saturation and waning interest are contributing to what they call a "gourmet-cupcake burnout" that's affecting small mom-and-pop stores and larger bakery chains alike.  RECIPE: Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes But we think there could be another factor contributing to the diminishing desire for cupcakes, and it's called the mug cake. These single-serve desserts offer all of the flavor and versatility of cupcakes, but they can easily be baked in batches of just one or two, right inside their own contained serving vessels (mugs). They microwave up in minutes, and it doesn't hurt that they come in a wide variety of delicious flavors, either. Check out what we mean below:
