The Ramos Gin Fizz is a classic drink down in “The Big Easy,” concocted by Henry C. Ramos all the way back in 1888.
- 2 oz. London dry gin
- 1 oz. heavy cream
- 1 egg whites
- 1/2 oz. lemon juice
- 1/2 oz. lime juice
- 1 oz. Simple Syrup
- 2 to 3 drops orange flower water*
For orange flower water
- Mix 5 parts water to 1 part Cointreau or orange liqueur of your choice.
For the cocktail
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker without ice and shake vigorously to combine. Add ice into the shaker and shake again for an additional couple of minutes. Strain into a glass and garnish with an orange peel.
