The screenwriter at the core of this movie yearns for the romance of a bygone era in Paris. Sadly, that sense of romance isn't shared by his future wife. And while it's hard to believe “Owen Wilson” and “Oscar-nominated film” are in the same sentence, this artistic piece deserves a drink straight from classical Paris. The Champagne Cocktail is simple and elegant, combining dry champagne with bitters and sugar to create an effervescent cocktail that's far more than the sum of its parts.

Ingredients:

Sugar cube

Orange bitters

Brut Champagne

Preparation:

Drop a sugar cube in the bottom of a champagne flute and hit it with a few drops of the orange bitters, then pour the champagne over the top of the sugar. Then toast to your sophisticated palate and the fact that Owen Wilson will likely never get within a country mile of an Oscar again.
