If you’re looking to blow your next paycheck or two on an extravagant Super Bowl meal, place an order for these fancy chicken wings from the Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York City.
At $4,900 for a dozen, these wings are not your average hot sauce and blue cheese. Made from organic , oven-roasted chicken, the order comes with a choice of expensive toppings. Some wings are smothered in a Louis XII Cognac-infused cream sauce (which retails for $2,400 alone), white truffles with black truffle sticks and dipping sauce. Others are covered in $1,600-per-ounce Osetra caviar and still others come with foie-gras (which retails for $65 a pound).
In addition to the trussed up chicken, the platter comes with a $400-a-pound imported Japanese Kobe beef filet mignon wing—served on the bone, which has been marinating in a rare Japanese Tokubetsu Daiginjyou Kamutachi sake that retails for $1,100-a-bottle.
“The ultimate wings for the ultimate game, and with advertisers paying $8 million for a 60-second commercial (last year’s rate), our $4,900 wings are a bargain — and a first-time culinary wing experience,” said Old Homestead Steakhouse owner Greg Sherry in a statement.
A bargain? Maybe. The Old Homestead is known for its over-the-top menu offerings, including a $35,000 Thanksgiving dinner package.
But each sale of this extreme Super Bowl feast goes to a good cause. The restaurant will donate $490 on each order to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson’s ‘Why Not You’ foundation which raises awareness of and provides funds to victims of domestic violence.
The wings can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. but orders must be placed by this Friday at 11 a.m. EST or 8 a.m. PST.
