Biz Beat: Yes we did

You know Wimpy, right? From Popeye the Sailor Man?
He's a freeloader, and his famous line is, “I'll have a hamburger, for which I will gladly pay you Tuesday.” Today, on “Your World,” we compared this line with the spending policies of President Obama. Yes, we did.
Meanwhile, the president has shipped the first installment of what will be many Guantanamo Bay detainees to the U.S. Guess where Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani finds himself today? That's right. New York City. Authorities say Ghailani took part in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya that killed 224 people. And now he's in my backyard! (Gulp.)
If you haven't already, check out the post below about RunPee.com <http://runpee.com/> , a site that tells you when's the best time to take a bathroom break during a movie at the theatre. Frankly, I find it a bit sad. In 130 years, we've gone from inventing the lightbulb to a Web site that suggests the most opportune time to trot to the restroom.
A tip for anyone coming to New York or already working here: bring your lunch to work. Every time you bring your lunch, you save between $5 and $10, depending on where you'd otherwise eat. If you do that four times a week and compound that over time, it adds up. Especially for out-of-town college students!
There is a subway station turnstile at the Rockefeller Center entrance that I use every weekday. And, every weekday, I manage to slam my knee into it. Just this one — none of the other hundreds of turnstiles throughout the city. Perhaps I can try not to do this tomorrow.
