PHOTOS: At Age 50, Monica Bellucci Becomes the Newest Bond Girl
Italian bombshell Monica Bellucci is set on sizzling up the big screen as an iconic Bond Girl. POLL: Who Was the Best 007? The brunette beauty has been cast as one of James Bond’s leading ladies for the 24th installment of the 007 franchise, titled “Spectre.” And at age 50, Bellucci is making headlines for officially becoming the oldest Bond girl in the franchise's history. However, this isn’t the first time Bellucci has crossed paths with the suave spy. Mirror reports that the actress screen-tested for the 1997 Bond film “Tomorrow Never Dies,” for a role that eventually went to actress Teri Hatcher. (“Almost 20 years later, she will take on the role of Lucia Sciarra,” the publication adds.) Bellucci will be starring alongside 46-year-old British actor Daniel Craig, who will continue his run as James Bond. Director Sam Mendes, who previously directed 2012’s “Skyfall,” will return to take on “Spectre.” READ: Nine 007-Inspired Cocktails “'Spectre' has big shoes to fill, as the last James Bond movie became the highest-grossing U.K. film and the ninth-highest-grossing movie of all time,” notes US Weekly. “'Skyfall' brought in more than $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office." But with Bellucci's sultry features and never-ending curves, we have no doubt she'll have audiences flocking to theaters. Check out some of Bellucci’s most glamorous red-carpet looks below:
