And while many may assume Taylor Swift would be in the lead for her massive following in country and pop, she’s actually not number one. That honor goes to 53-year-old artist Toby Keith, who earned a whopping $65 million over the past year. “Keith doesn’t get as much mainstream acclaim as Diddy or Jay Z, but out-earned both this year with the help of a bevy of entrepreneurial ventures including his Show Dog label, a growing list of I Love This Bar And Grill restaurants, a multimillion-dollar endorsement deal with Ford, and his own Wild Shot mescal,” says Forbes. Swift, on the other hand? It was a close call for the 24-year-old, but she came in second with a mere $64 million. Forbes reveals her paycheck is credited to touring, as well as endorsements for Diet Coke, Keds, and CoverGirl.
