Raquel Welch, 73 and Ageless
It was nearly 50 years ago when sultry screen siren Raquel Welch made temperatures rise everywhere with her infamous fur bikini in 1966’s “One Million Years B.C.” And at age 73, she’s still making hearts race with her coveted curves. READ: Christie Brinkley Outshines Models Half Her Age at Sports Illustrated Event The international sex symbol and former Playboy model flaunted her famous shape when she made a grand appearance at the 16th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills, on Feb. 22. The Hollywood bombshell still easily managed to stir headlines, and it’s not just because she wore a body-hugging little black dress. And how does Welch still managed to be one of the most iconic pinups of all time? According to her, it’s all about aging gracefully. Back in 2010, Welch told Oprah that the most important lesson every woman should learn is to simply embrace getting older. “I want them to stop being scared of it, because it’s just another chapter in life,” says Welch. “It’s not time for you to give up. You don’t need to repeat what you already did. Don’t keep comparing yourself.” Of course, staying forever young isn’t just about inheriting good genes. I’m there at 7AM and I do an hour of cardiovascular work and then do 30-45 minutes of weight training.” As far as her skincare goes, plain soap and water just won’t do. Welch says she inherited her flawless features from her mother and takes care of her face by staying away from drying products, like soap. In addition, a proper diet is crucial to both looking and feeling her very best. PHOTOS: Kim Basinger Has Not Aged Since 1993 “I eat grains in the morning with fruit and no sugar,” says Welch. “I have four ounces of protein at each of the other two meals–grilled or broiled with lemon and herbs and no salt. I also take vitamins A, C, D, and E along with selenium and a calcium tablet every day." Welch also adds she practices “food combining” with the help of a housekeeper, who prepares non-fat meals daily. “I eat proteins with vegetables, and starches with vegetables, but no starches with proteins,” she says. So far, we’re loving the tantalizing results. PHOTOS: Shania Twain is 48, Has Not Aged Since 1995 Check out Welch’s ageless looks from over the years below:
