On the heels of releasing his new album “Meet the Orphans,” Don Omar, like a growing number of Americans, was eager to volunteer this Thanksgiving Day.
“Giving to the less fortunate, especially in these difficult times, is very important,” he said.
“People often forget about the elderly,” he added. “They tend to be left in homes, in most cases without their family around them.”
What is Don Omar’s favorite thing about Thanksgiving? “Arroz con gandules and potato salad,” Don Omar answered. “I like a traditional Puerto Rican meal.” He was happy to provide a hot meal and a smile to those in need of a little holiday cheer.
Don Omar went around the room shaking hands and sharing both jokes and messages of encouragement to the residents.
It was an afternoon of smiles, laughs, and a few happy tears for both residents and staff members.
