Police are urging more victims to come forward about a former “Millionaire Matchmaker” contestant accused of running a “house of horrors” where he’d rape women.
Michael Bernback, who appeared on the Bravo reality dating show, was charged in August 2015 following allegations he drugged and raped three women, news station KTLA reported.
Authorities said the 65-year-old would “troll adult websites” to meet women and invite them to a Sherman Oaks home described as a “fortress.” The house only had one way to enter or exit, police said.
Bernback would arrange the meetings with the promise to compensate the women with money, according to officials.
“However, Mr. Bernback would exceed the activities that were initially discussed, forcing victims to participate in sexual activities that were injurious to the victims,” police said in a news release.
One woman, who declined to be identified, said she agreed to visit his home in 2015, but explained that she was not willing to do certain sexual acts with him.
Bernback allegedly sexually assaulted her with two other women present in the home — striking her when she would try to speak, according to the news station.
“He is a very sick person,” the victim told KTLA, adding the encounter was traumatizing and “ruined” her life.
