Jennifer Lopez is keeping herself very busy with yet another new television show.
The singer and actress turned producer is adding another show to her growing resume – this time a futuristic police crime drama.
The Hollywood Reporter said the show is called “C.R.I.S.P.R” aka “clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats,” is a procedural thriller set five minutes into the future. And it explores a new terror: DNA hacking.
A script has been handed to NBC for consideration and, if it’s picked up, it would explore several biological attacks and other kinds of modern crime in each episode.
THR reported Anthony Cipriano is set to write the script and co-produce alongside Lopez and her Nuyorican Productions.
“C.R.I.S.P.R” is the latest of several projects Lopez has in line with NBC. In addition to producing and starring in “Shades of Blue,” now in its second season, Lopez is executive producer and judge of the new dance competition “World of Dance.”
Her other TV projects include an untitled legal drama set up at CBS under development and a new HBO TV movie in which Lopez will play drug lord Griselda Blanco. She is also producer of the Freeform hit “The Fosters” and is midway through her Las Vegas concert residency.
