Mexican duo Jesse & Joy, Colombian singer Fonseca and Brazilian crooner Djavan are leading the nominations for the 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, including album of the year.

Julieta Venegas, Diego Torres and Pablo Alboran follow close behind with three nominations apiece including the top award for album of the year, the Latin Recording Academy announced Wednesday morning from Miami.

The trio is among the 17 artists who received three nominations.

The late Juan Gabriel, Enrique Iglesias, Carlos Vives and Shakira are among the nearly 50 artists who received two nominations for their music.

"Nominations day is always a proud moment for The Latin Recording Academy because it reminds us of how much growth and diversity Latin music and its global community have achieved throughout the year," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, in a statement. “This year's group of nominees showcases the craftsmanship of the artists in front of the microphone and behind the soundboard, a true testament to the dedication of our voting body and their commitment to recognize creative individuals on all levels.”

Colombian music producers Julio Reyes Copello and Ricardo Lopez Lalinde lead the nominations for non-artists with four a piece for their songs with the likes of Diego Torres, Andres Cepeda and Fonseca.

The 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Nov. 17. For a full list of nominees, visit the Latin Grammys website.
