“The View” has become more known for its revolving door of co-hosts than its once popular “Hot Topics” segment (Wendy Williams stole that thunder).

We’re hearing Paula Faris will be the latest co-host to get axed from the table before the show’s new fall season.

“ABC News was hoping [Paula] would bring a more conservative perspective to the show because she’s a conservative Christian. But she doesn’t own her opinions and the audience never connects with anyone who’s pretending,” a source told us.

To make matters worse, market research found Faris unlikable to viewers, according to the source.

“ABC News did research and Paula scored some of the lowest numbers ever that the network had seen,” the source said.

Whoopi Goldberg is “elated about this. She has never been a fan of Paula’s. The tension on-air has been so thick you could cut it with a knife. Whoopi never misses an opportunity to bite her head off over any given topic,” adds the source.

Another insider told us: “I haven’t heard anything about any research. She works hard and everyone loves Paula. She’s a journalist. Her job is to be objective. She was never brought to the table to have the same role as Joy Behar.”

A rep for the show threw her full support behind Farris. “Paula is a great addition to the team, and she’ll absolutely be back as a co-host next season,” said the rep.

Former host Michelle Collins received her pink slip in June, one month after the show’s reps brushed off Page Six’s report that she was getting pushed out.

Sources say Raven-Symoné will also get the boot and fan favorite Sunny Hustin will become a regular host in September.
