Melissa McCarthy will return to 'Gilmore Girls' after all

McCarthy: I've been all sizes

For the last couple of months, it looked like it wasn't going to happen, but Melissa McCarthy is returning to Star Hollow after all and will be reprising her role as Sookie on Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" revival.

McCarthy went public with the news during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to promote her latest comedy pic "Boss," explaining that severe scheduling conflicts needed to be dealt with first.

"Literally about an hour ago, we figured out that I am gonna go back and do it!" she said to loud cheers from the crowd.

McCarthy initially said she hadn’t been invited to "The Gilmore Girls" revival, taking the form of a miniseries of four 90-minute episodes set to air on Netflix at a date TBD. Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Sean Gunn, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Jared Padalecki and Yanic Truesdale are all confirmed to return for the series which began filming in February and will continue shooting through summer.
