Jennifer Garner says that “Miracles From Heaven” made her realize how it was important to participate more in her faith.

“I don’t think it (my faith) has changed, I grew up going to church,” she told FOX411 at the premiere for her film.  “The only difference is that I think I probably realized I needed to participate in it more and actually be reengaged and finding a church in my community instead of just going when I am home in West Virginia.”

Garner plays Christy Beam, a mother whose daughter is miraculously cured from an incurable disease after falling. The film is based on the true story of Annabel Beam.

Garner, mother of three, said she realized she needed to live out her faith for her children, who were all baptized in West Virginia.

“I just realized I was living [with faith] in my head and not modeling it for them.”

However, the 43-year-old actress revealed to People that she is still getting comfortable talking about religion.

“It has always been quietly a part of me,” she told the mag. “"I'm still getting used to the idea of talking about it."

Co-star Martin Henderson, who plays Garner’s husband in the film, gushed about working with the actress.

“It was so easy, it was great!” he said with a grin from ear to ear. “Whenever you play a husband and wife you never know how it’s going to go and so much of it is chemistry and I think I’m a little in love with her—anybody that ever meets her man or woman probably feels that there is something so enigmatically beautiful and pure about her.”

Garner, who last year announced her split from husband Ben Affleck, was able to take away a strong message of hope from her film.

“I took so much away from doing this movie and one of those things it’s just hope and to be encouraged and to be inspired,” she said. “I am so inspired by the Beam family. I think one of those things I took away from the movie is getting to know the Beam family getting to know Kylie Rogers and getting to know Martin (Henderson). It was such an intense experience that I know we will always be a part of each other’s lives.”

“Miracles From Heaven” opens March 16th.
