Salma Hayek wants to get to the bottom of what happened to her beloved dog.

Just a few days after the Mexican actress revealed that her German Shepherd mix dog, Mozart, was shot and killed in her Washington state ranch, she is speaking out and thanking fans for their love and support.

“I am very moved by all your stories you have shared with me in regards of Mozart's death. I am trying to figure out a way to use technology so we can have a chat and share my feelings with you,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

In a statement to E! News, the actress added: “Thank you to the press and my fans for all your support. I am very touched that you are eager to hear from me regarding the death of my beloved dog, Mozart. I assure I am just as eager to speak about this, and I will in time, once I have gathered more information about what has happened.”

As previously reported, Hayek’s dog was killed by a neighbor who shot Mozart with an air rifle because it was in his garage and fighting with his own dogs.

Kim Lund told the Associated Press that her husband shot the pellet gun to scare the dogs away and didn’t know he had hit Mozart until investigators came knocking.

"I'm still coming to terms with all of this, as you can imagine," Lund said. "We didn't even know we killed a dog. To find out we killed a dog that belonged to a high-profile person ... I'm in shock."

A veterinarian later determined a lead pellet nicked an artery and caused the canine to bleed internally bleed, authorities said. Investigators found the shooting to be justified.

According to TMZ, Hayek was outraged when she was told that cops would not take any action against the neighbor, insisting that her dogs never trespassed on his property.

However, a caretaker, who was watching Hayek’s dogs at the time, says otherwise. She told deputies that she went for a horseback ride with a few dogs, and that they took off running toward the sound of other dogs at an adjacent property.

When she realized that one of the dogs has not returned, she searched and found him dead on a trail, police said.

Lund, who owns five dogs with her husband along with other animals, said she was heart-broken to learn that Mozart was dead. "My heart is broken. I'm really sorry that the dog died," she said.

Hayek posted on Instagram Friday saying that she was mourning the death of her 9-year-old dog and hoped authorities would find justice. The 49-year-old actress, who was nominated for an Academy Award for 2002's "Frida," said Mozart was a loving and loyal companion and didn't deserve a slow and painful death.
