Just like any real-life American family, the characters on "The Goldbergs" fight with each other, annoy each other, and embarrass each other on a semi-daily basis.
But under all that fighting and annoying, it's clear that there's a strong, loving bond between the eccentric, '80s-drenched members of the Goldberg clan.
"There's different dynamics within each character and their relationship, that different people of all different backgrounds can relate to," says Hayley Orrantia, who plays the role of Erica Goldberg on the hit ABC sitcom. "And [people] watch it, and they connect. Whether it's a brother/brother scenario, or a mom and daughter scenario, I think a lot of people can watch it and go, 'Oh, that's like me and my family.'"
As Orrantia also explains, she, too, considers the cast and crew of "The Goldbergs" to be her family.
"I think, as a cast, we just have grown closer over the seasons," says Orrantia. "I think we just really love each other. We feel like a family on and off set, and I can call them whenever and feel like I have somebody there for me."
"I'm really happy that we've been able to work together so well over the last three seasons," she adds.
And as for the show? Hayley hints that we'll want to stay tuned for the remainder of the new season: "There's a really great tribute episode that I can't give away quite yet … All I can say is there's a lot of dancing."
