Jennifer Lopez’s already busy schedule won't be changing anytime soon.

The “American Idol” judge has found the time to continue to play crooked-ish cop turned FBI informant on “Shades of Blue” for a second season, NBC announced late last week.

The cop drama has been a welcome relief for the network’s long-troubled Thursday 10 p.m. time slot, averaging 11.2 million viewers overall and hitting a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49.

“CONGRATS to the entire cast and crew of #ShadesOfBlue on the SEASON 2 pickup!!” Lopez tweeted with a photo of the cast.

“We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show, as well as our other amazing producers and cast for all their tireless work in creating one of the most compelling dramas on television today,” Jennifer Salke, NBC Entertainment president, said in a statement.

Lopez plays Harlee Santos, a charismatic single mother and resourceful detective in Brooklyn. She's part of a tight-knit crew led by Lt. Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta), who has the team step outside the limitations of the law in order to protect their precinct and their own.

However, the FBI catches Santos and pits her against her own unit. She struggles to safeguard her family and avoid arrest in order to stay with her daughter and engages in a perilous dance with her FBI handler, who develops an unhealthy obsession with her. Pressure mounts as Santos’ unit struggles to perform their brand of street justice under the feds' watchful eye.

“We’re so excited to find out where this story will lead and have them raise the stakes even higher in what we know will be a fantastic second season,” Salke said.

Along with “Shades of Blue,” Lopez is juggling her job as a judge on the final season of “American Idol” with her new Las Vegas concert residency, “All I Have.”
