Charlie Sheen is said to be announcing early Tuesday morning that he is HIV positive.
The “Three and a Half Men” actor is set to sit down with Today Show’s Matt Lauer on Tuesday, Nov. 17 for a “revealing personal announcement.”
The show’s producers announced the live in-studio interview with the 50-year-old actor on Monday. The full interview will be posted online after it airs, according to a press release.
Sources close to the morning show told TMZ that Sheen will use the interview to reveal to the world that he’s HIV positive.
Speculation that this diagnosis would be the topic of conversation between Sheen and Lauer came after the National Enquirer tabloid published an expose saying the actor with a history of drug addiction and a penchant for prostitutes has recently been diagnosed with HIV.
The report follows another RadarOnline story that said a “notorious Hollywood womanizer” was hiding a “deadly health crisis.” The article last month – headlined “Hollywood Superstar’s Desperate Battle with AIDS!” – did not reveal Sheen’s identify, however sparked a firestorm of speculation that Sheen fit the profile.
According to Monday’s article – posted on RadarOnline – Sheen is desperate to cover up his medical crisis after a long history of sleeping with porn stars, strippers and groupies.
“Charlie thought he was indestructible and took no precautions — even though he was indulging in high-risk sex practices,” a close friend of the star told the tabloid.
The report also stated that the actor reportedly paid off one former female sex partner after allegedly exposing her to the virus. He also allegedly has several lawsuits against him.
“Charlie had sex with multiple partners since learning his HIV status without informing them of his potentially deadly HIV infection,” one source told The ENQUIRER.
Sheen, who was born Carlos Estevez, has declined to confirm the rumors.
