Here's what's happening out there:

• SI swimsuit model Hannah Ferguson shared an itty-bitty bikini pic on Instagram the other day (above), but neglected to share why. Perhaps she simply thought the public was growing tired of ogling all those Victoria's Secret models in the news lately, and decided to give us the option to ogle a Sports Illustrated model instead.

• Speaking of Ferguson, she recently visited our studios to discuss her side-gig with Triumph Lingerie. Watch the video below to check it out (along with some great shots from the campaign), but only if you haven't yet grown tired of all the various supermodels this world keeps throwing at you.

• According to director J.J. Abrams, Carrie Fisher's character in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will not be referred to as Princess Leia, but instead "General" Leia. Whether this new title comes with a cool helmet or some kind of jaunty military cap to replace her cinnamon-bun hairdo has yet to be revealed.

• In a video posted to his YouTube page, actor David Hasselhoff claims that he has officially changed his name from "David Hasselhoff" to "David Hoff" (below). It's not yet known whether this is merely just a joke or a promotional stunt, so you'd best address any "Baywatch Nights" fan-mail to both Hasselhoff and Hoff, just to be safe.

• According to Variety, the Writer's Guild of America has decided that the screenplay for "Annie Hall" is the funniest of all time, followed by "Some Like It Hot," "Groundhog Day," "Airplane!" and "Tootsie." So apparently, none of the WGA members have ever seen "Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2."

• Long-time Hollywood heavyweight John Goodman arrived for the premiere of his new film "Love the Coopers" looking thinner than ever (below), with People mag reporting that he's recently shed about 100 pounds from his continuously shrinking body. So at some point, we're going to have to entertain the notion that John Goodman has been replaced with a pod-person who's just wearing his skin.

• Shonda Rhimes, the showrunner for such hits as "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal," has recently admitted to killing a character simply because she didn't like the actor who played him/her. (She wouldn't say who, though.) Interestingly, however, she neglected to reveal if she's ever killed an actor because she didn't like how he played her character. But think about it: Has anyone actually seen Patrick Dempsey in the past few years?

• In some sort of bizarre fashion-based tribute, Lindsay Lohan shared a photo of herself dressed as actress and murder victim Sharon Tate — and she did it on Charles Manson's 81st birthday, no less. It's hard to say if she actually planned it this way, but we should all keep a lookout for any posts she might upload on Phil Spector or John David Chapman's birthdays to see if she'll be continuing this disturbing trend:

• And finally, in celebration of the 2000th episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, the CCO of Warner Bros. Television officially renamed the show's stage "The Ellen Stage" in DeGeneres' honor. Coincidentally, "the Ellen stage" is also what we called our first year after college, when we were unemployed and watching too much daytime TV.
