Al Roker embarrasses colleague on live TV

Legendary weatherman Al Roker talks about his new book "The Storm of the Century-Tragedy, Heroism, Survival & The Epic True Story of America's Deadliest Natural Disaster: The Great Gulf Hurricane of 1900"

Add this to Al Roker‘s list of on-air “oops” moments.

The gaffe-prone weatherman revealed Weather Channel colleague Kait Parker’s engagement on live TV Thursday morning — and she didn’t appear too happy about it.

Roker unexpectedly dropped the news when Parker swung by the “Today” show Plaza and appeared on-camera with him.

“Look who stopped by — one of my Weather Channel compatriots Kait Parker, who just got engaged to our hurricane expert Michael Lowry.”

Parker cringed and laughed as she responded, “And you just dropped the bomb on national television, so thanks, Al.”

But she did play along enough to flash her engagement ring for the cameras.

“That’s what friends are for,” Roker told Parker after her remark, before he threw it back to Savannah Guthrie in the studio.
