Gina Rodriguez, star of the hit CW show “Jane the Virgin,” took the stage Sunday night to host the Teen Choice Awards with Josh Peck and Ludacris. She opened the show by rapping a verse from DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win,” showing America she’s got some serious rapping skills.

FOX411 caught up with Rodriguez on the carpet before she went in to host. She spoke to us about the power of the fans.

“These teens are going to be successful for the world, and for change, and for encouraging people to live their lives,” she said.  “We are successful because of these teens. My show is on the air because of these teens and hopefully I will continue to have a career because of them. So right now Teen Choice to me is like giving back and letting them know how much I love them and how much my entire journey has been a success because of them.”

She also confessed that Britney Spears was her favorite celeb growing up and was so excited to work with her.

“Britney spears, she was my girl crush, number one. And she’s going to be on “Jane the Virgin” in season two, so I’m very excited about that!”

Spears is set to star as herself in the fifth episode of the season this fall.

The popstar recently tweeted, “See u at the Marbella Hotel soon, @hereisgina @jaimecamil! Guest starring on one of my favorite shows EVER @CWJaneTheVirgin #DreamComeTrue”

Spears was presented with the “Candie’s Choice Style Icon” award by the ladies of Fifth Harmony.
