Dolly Parton gave one young actress the news of a lifetime. A 7-year-old named Alyvia Lind received the news from Parton herself that she will play the country singer in the upcoming original movie "Coat of Many Colors."
"What I'm really here to do is to announce that you have been chosen to play little Dolly in the movie," Parton tells an excited Lind in a clip from the "Today" show.
Named after one of Parton's songs, the film will focus on the singer's upbringing and tell the story of how her mother made her a coat of rags to teach her about the biblical story of Joseph and his "Coat of Many Colors."
When Parton proudly wore the coat to school, she was ridiculed by classmates for wearing rags. The coat is currently on display at Parton's "Chasing Rainbows Museum" at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
