Sofia Vergara and fiancé Joe Manganiello were all smiles on the red carpet at the “Magic Mike XXL” premiere in Hollywood, Calif., on Thursday night, but nearby swarms of protesters were spotted expressing their anger over Vergara’s embryo battle with her ex.

TMZ posted photos of protesters holding up signs with slogans like “Persons not property” and “Unfreeze your daughters, unfreeze your heart.”

The signs were in response to Vergara’s ongoing legal drama with ex-fiancé Nick Loeb over two frozen embryos they created while they were a couple. Loeb has been slamming Vergara for allegedly not allowing him to find a surrogate to carry the embryos, which he has said he wants to on his own.

TMZ reports that Vergara’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized with “#embryodefense.”

The site reports Vergara and Manganiello were safely inside the theater watching the film as the protesters raged outside.
