If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's the motto CMT followed with the launch of their "Party Down South" spinoff appropriately named "Party Down South 2."
"Party Down South" is the network's most successful show, and its sister show follows close behind. The second season of "Party Down South 2" airs May 14 on CMT and it promises a whole lot of beer-guzzling, gun-toting, cowboy boot-wearing friends living under one roof and all of the drama that ensues.
In addition to the returning cast members, CMT welcomed 21-year-old university student Kelsie to the fold. FOX411 spoke with the Arkansas native about her experience joining the reality show.
FOX411: Were you a fan of the show before joining the cast?
Kelsie Davenport: I actually watched the show from day one. The first time I watched it, I was watching it with my family and I looked at my family and I said, 'I would be perfect for that show.'
FOX411: Did your cast mates embrace you?
Davenport: In the beginning, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going to walk in here and I'm going to own it.' I didn't know that I'd be walking into a family...What I found out is these people are a family and I'm this new person and they need to figure me out. At the end, I walked out feeling like I'm a part of it.
FOX411: Why do you think you make a good addition to the cast of "Party Down South 2?"
Davenport: I like to have a good time...I know how to drink, how to have a good time and I know how to make friends.
FOX411: Now that the show is going to air, are there any parts you had to warn your parents about?
Davenport: Let's say there are a few episodes I'm going to watch only with my friends.
FOX411: "Party Down South" and "Party Down South 2" have both been criticized for portraying the South in a bad light and promoting stereotypes, do you agree?
Davenport: I think the show represents the South...we're all from the South...And we're on vacation having fun. Sometimes when you mix alcohol with things, things can get a little out of hand. But we're all just having fun and on vacation.
"Party Down South 2" returns to CMT with new episodes on May 14.
