Kelly Clarkson, like Jane Fonda and Whoopi Goldberg, is a fan of going green these days.

In a candid interview with Us Weekly, the 32-year-old “Miss Independent” singer admits that she sees nothing wrong with smoking marijuana.

“I cannot understand the fact that controlled narcotic substances and alcohol are legal and weed isn’t,” she said as part of the magazine’s “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” list.

“How many people do you know who have died from weed? My point exactly,” she drove home.

Recreational pot is now legal in three states— Colorado, Washington and Alaska.

In another revelatory tidbit about her life, the Nashville-area resident is a supporter of the Second Amendment.

“I have a concealed handgun license,” she noted, but didn’t say if she owns a firearm.

Beyond the serious and controversial and straight on to the quirky, Clarkson — who gave birth to daughter River Rose back in June — says she’s obsessed with having clean ears.
