Actress Illeana Douglas has penned a book about her career, including jobs before she made it — as an assistant to Ian Schrager and p.r. pro Peggy Siegal.
“The first day of work, I was walking the halls of the Brill Building and saw Warren Beatty and Elaine May editing ‘Ishtar,’” she says of working for Siegal. “I thought, ‘This is the greatest job ever!’”
One task was getting a date for Nicolas Cage for the premiere of 1987’s “Moonstruck.” “Cher’s date was Bon Jovi — the entire band.”
