“Macho Man” Randy Savage will be inducted as the first member of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015 the night before WrestleMania 31on March 29 at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

Savage's brother and fellow professional wrestler Lanny Poffo told Another Wrestling Podcast: "My brother wanted the Poffos to be inducted as a family, but I had to let go of that because it was hurting too many people, and Randy loved the fans.... This is what the fans demanded and I am very glad I gave it to them."

Savage died on May 20, 2011, after suffering a heart attack while driving with his wife in Seminole, Fla. He was 58 years old.

Poffo said it was his idea that Hulk Hogan be the one to induct his brother.

"Randy and Hulk, sometimes they got along, and sometimes they didn't, but nobody can say that was not a successful combination, and Randy deep down in his heart loved Hulk, and Hulk loved Randy," Poffo said.

Poffo, 60, added he was was glad he could finally help with is brother's induction.

"Well it’s a little bit like hitting yourself on top of the head with a hammer," he said. "It feels so good when you stop."
