HBO’s “Game of Thrones” has worldwide popularity and star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau got a taste of it when he landed in Spain for shooting.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Danish star said that fans of the show had “mobbed him there more than once” since arriving in the country only days before.

“(Fans have) become more intense in Belfast for the first time too, but it’s nothing like Spain,” Coster-Waldau said, emphasizing that while he appreciates the attention, he’s unaccustomed to it. “They’re really sweet, but some are like, ‘I’ve been looking for you for two days!’”

The hit show, which premieres its fifth season in the spring, typically shoots in Northern Ireland and Croatia, but scenes were added using the 15th-century Alcazar Palace and other locations in around the southern Spanish city of Seville.

According to the report, even the lesser-known actors on the show have received attention that’s unusual for the production. Newcomer Toby Sebastian generated a fairly large mob of fans asking for autographs and photos outside his hotel.

“They are really excited,” said local director Piluca Querol. “There are a lot of girls trying to kiss the actors.”
