Keith Urban 'horrified' by alleged rape, multiple arrests at Massachusetts concert

Keith Urban released a statement Thursday regarding an alleged rape and multiple arrests that took place at his July 26 Massachusetts show.

"My team and I were horrified to learn of the events reported in Boston this past weekend and our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected," Urban said on his website.

More than 50 people were placed in protective custody, and 46 people were treated for alcohol-related illnesses at the Mansfield, Massachusetts concert. An 18-year-old Boston man has also been charged in the rape of a 17-year-old girl which reportedly took place on the lawn section of Urban's show.

"This type of behavior stands in stark contrast to the spirit of our shows," Urban continued.

Mansfield county Chairman of the Board of Selectman George Dentino, who attended the concert, told FOX411 that an understaffed police force did a "terrific job" handling the rowdy crowd and that investigations were still underway.

"I know [Urban] made a statement [on YouTube] but he'd probably left town by the time the investigations were coming to light," Dentino said. "We have not heard from him."

Dentino continued that the while they are still in the "embryonic stage of an investigation," more "facts will come to light," as the board meets daily to "come up with a plan in order to assure people that it
will never happen again."

The singer initially posted a YouTube video shorty after the concert where Urban told fans: "Gosh, up on the lawn tonight, that was nutso. It was so cool." The video was later removed.

FOX411's Sasha Bogursky contributed to this report.
