The Backstreet Boys have cancelled their upcoming concert dates in Tel Aviv amid growing politic unrest and military escalation in Israel.

"Due to the security situation, we regret to announce that the BSB shows planned for July 29-30-31 at Raanana Amphitheater have been postponed," read a notice on the Backstreet Boy's website.

However, the band has promised to plan a number of shows for the venue in the future. "To assure the safety of the audience in the events, we will schedule new dates during spring 2015."

The site also had a message of apology from the boy band to their fans.

"This is a major disappointment for the band and fans as this was to be our first visit to Israel and we looked forward to meeting our fans. We're already working with the producers on new dates during Spring 2015 and will notify everyone about this as soon as possible. Sending lots of love to everyone."

According to the site, anyone with tickets for the cancelled show dates will be able to use those tickets for the planned future shows, or can receive a full refund.

On Saturday, singer Paul Anka also announced that he would be canceling and rescheduling his upcoming concert in Israel, while Neil Young and Crazy Horse cancelled their planned Tel Aviv concerts early last week.
