Jennifer Lopez is once again a single lady.

Just days after several reports said that the singer’s relationship with Casper Smart was on the rocks following some "sexting" allegations; it looks like they have indeed called it quits.

“It has actually been an amicable process that started a few months ago,” a source told Us Weekly. “It wasn’t an easy decision, but they decided to stay friends… Their relationship couldn’t work with the distance. He started trying to establish his own life and career, and she is so focused on hers, and they just couldn’t be all about each other anymore.”

TMZ reported that Smart, 27, is in the process of moving out of her house in Los Angeles, but there is no rush because Lopez is on the road promoting her 10th album, “A.K.A.”

Lopez, 44, and Smart began dating back in November 2011, just months after the “American Idol” judge split from her third husband, Marc Anthony. Since then, Smart has been a fixture by Lopez’s side, accompanying her to tapings, red carpet events and on family vacations with her kids.

In recent weeks, the duo has been the topic of rumors after there were allegations that Smart cheated on the singer with a transgender model he reportedly met online.

Sources told both Us Weekly and TMZ that the stories were untrue and that the split has been in the works for a while and had nothing to do with Smart’s alleged sexual escapades.

“The scandal had nothing to do with it,” a source told Us Weekly. “He insists none of that is true and she believes him.”

Neither Lopez or Casper have commented publicly on the split.
