Ever since Miranda Lambert‘s debut album, ‘Kerosene,’ was released in 2005, the singer has spent much of each year on the road. But that’s about to change. Lambert has announced she is taking a break from touring, which she admits is both exciting and terrifying.

“This is the longest break I’ve ever had since I was 17, since I started playing music,” the ‘Automatic’ singer acknowledges.

“It’s kind of scary ’cause you just get your autopilot, and you know what you’re doing,” she adds. “And then it’s like, ‘Wait a minute, do I really, do I remember how to do this?’”

The 30-year-old earned headliner status in 2010 with her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour, and has since taken some of country music’s biggest stars on the road with her, including Eric Church, Little Big Town, Jerrod Niemann and Gary Allan. But after co-headlining the Locked and Reloaded Tour with Dierks Bentley last year, the songstress realized taking a break was the best thing for her, both personally and professionally.

“It’s good, too, because then your batteries are recharged and you feel like you have more to give,” she notes.

Fans will still have plenty of chances to get to see Lambert in action. She is joining Jason Aldean for three shows on his Burn It Down Tour this summer, and will also hit the road for several of her own shows in July and August, performing songs from her upcoming album, ‘Platinum,’ which will be released on June 3.
