The support for Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson is growing.
Hours after his reality show co-stars rose to his defense, so did Bristol Palin. In a blog post titled "Leave Phil Robertson alone!," Palin says that the backlash about Robertson's anti-gay comments in GQ "flies in the face of what makes America great," she writes. "People can have their own beliefs and own opinions and their own ways of life."
Palin, 23, says that everyone needs to treat others with love, and that it should go both ways. "I hate how the LGBT community says it's all about 'love' and 'equality.' However, if you don't agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn," she continues. "They need to learn how to respect others' opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn't support homosexuality and gay marriage is homophobic."
Palin says that everyone should enjoy free speech, even if certain expressed beliefs makes others uncomfortable. "If I were Duck Dynasty, I would take my show to another channel," she writes. "So much disrespect." Additionally, Palin posted a photo of Robertson on her Facebook page and said, ""I support Phil Robertson and his right to express his faith and his beliefs. Shame on A&E."
Palin's post comes days after her mother, Sarah Palin, tweeted to defend Robertson. The cable network has suspended Robertson from filming indefinitely after anti-gay comments he made in the new issue of GQ sparked outrage online.
On late Thursday, the rest of the cast of Duck Dynasty said that they "cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm," leaving the future of the hit show in jeopardy.
