Country artist Trace Adkins appeared on a recent episode of E!'s "Chelsea Lately," where he quickly came under fire for shedding a few tears at the American Country Awards.

Host Chelsea Handler playfully prodded the country crooner about "crying like a little b****" after LeAnn Rimes sang her Patsy Cline tribute, to which Adkins quickly responded, "I was not crying."

After a few moments, the ACA host eventually admitted that he did get a little misty-eyed during the performance. "LeAnn Rimes was out there singing, and when she finished, I looked around at all the stage crew guys — you know, total badasses — and everybody was crying," he said. "I'm just saying I wasn't the only one crying."

Handler joked that Adkins should've had some dignity out there on stage, to which he replied, "I don't know. I don't stand in somebody's presence that can sing like that very often. It just moved me."
