Even though they spent lots of time in close quarters, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton never had an affair.

The 75-year-old crooner addressed rumors of their romance when he appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday morning.

“[Parton] and I worked together for two years on the road. Everybody always thought we were having an affair. We just flirted with each other for 30 years, you know. But it keeps the tension,” he explained with a smile.

Parton is heard in a duet with Rogers on his new “You Can’t Make Old Friends.”

“She really is an old friend,” he said. “The song was written for the two of us. We sang it on the stage of the war memorial in Nashville and both of us were really choked up, because it’s kind of a poignantly sad song. It’s about what am I going to do when you’re gone.”

Rogers also spoke about his 9-year-old twins, who keep him on his toes.

“It’s a very interesting thing having kids at my age. They say it either makes you or breaks you. I’m leaning pretty heavily toward break right now,” he joked.
