Gretchen Carlson’s new daytime show is set to debut Sept. 30 on the Fox News Channel.

“The Real Story With Gretchen Carlson” will air at 2 p.m. ET, and will focus on current events from news and crime to politics and investigative reports. Carlson – who has interviewed everyone from Barack Obama to Laura Bush -- will talk to today’s newsmakers, lead expert panel debates, and engage her viewers with the latest social media tools.

Carlson’s show will be preceded at 1 p.m. by a one-hour “America’s News HQ,” co-anchored by Bill Hemmer and Alisyn Camerota.

“I am thrilled that Roger Ailes has given me the opportunity to host a signature show for Fox that will focus on the real stories of the day,” Carlson said in a statement. “From in-depth interviews to social media interaction live during the show, I look forward to joining viewers in the afternoon for smart and straight-forward talk. Plus, I now get to have breakfast with my kids and maybe even drive them to school! How great is that?"

Previously co-host of the "Fox and Friends" morning show, Carlson joined Fox News Channel in June 2005. During her tenure at the network, she has reported on scores of major stories and contributed to Fox News' coverage of the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections.

“Throughout her career, Gretchen has showcased her talents as a strong interviewer and skilled moderator, both of which will serve her well as she offers viewers a fresh take on the news,” said Executive Vice President of News Michael Clemente.

“Gretchen’s vast experience both at the network and in the industry at large has more than prepared her for this new role and we are pleased to have her join the daytime lineup,” added Jay Wallace, Vice President of News.
