'Saturday Night Live' adds six new faces for new season

Six new faces are joining the "Saturday Night Live" cast as featured players, NBC announced Monday. 

Stand-up comedian Brooks Wheelan joins previously reported new hires Beck Bennett (the ATT commercial guy), Michael Patrick O'Brien (an "SNL writer"), along with John Milhiser, Kyle Mooney and Noël Wells, all from "Upright Citizens Brigade" on Comedy Central.

Fall TV Preview: Where we left off with returning shows

The show lost longtime cast members Jason SudeikisBill Hader and Fred Armisen after last season. Seth Meyers, who will be joined at the "Weekend Update" desk by Cecily Strong, will also depart in early 2014 to take over hosting duties at "Late Night." 

"Saturday Night Live" returns on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11:30/10:30c with host Tina Fey and musical guest Arcade Fire.
