Eva Longoria's not just a pretty face: The Desperate Housewives alum earned her master's degree from California State University, Northridge on Wednesday.

"Big day today!!! Very excited to graduate for my Master's degree in Chicano Studies!" Longoria, 38, tweeted Wednesday, along with a series of photos before and after the ceremony with her family and fellow graduates. "You're never too old or too busy to continue your education!"

Longoria, who also holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University, began her master's studies three years ago while she was still on Desperate Housewives, her rep said. Earlier this month, Longoria told E! News that she was finishing her thesis. According to TMZ, her thesis was titled "Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers." (STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math.)

Longoria's famous pals quickly congratulated her over Twitter.

"Proud of you Eva," Garcelle Beauvais wrote.

Added her Desperate Housewives co-star Marcia Cross: "Huge congratulations on your graduation today!!!! From Canne [sic] to Cap and Gown. You are really something. Xoxo m."
